Corrections Policy

How we handle error reports, how we verify and publish corrections, and how we maintain calculator accuracy over time.

Why This Matters

Calculation accuracy is the foundation of everything we do. When a calculator produces an incorrect result — whether from a formula error, an outdated fee rate, or a typo in an example — it can lead to bad business decisions. We take error reports seriously and handle them promptly.

Our Corrections Policy exists so you know exactly what happens when you report a problem, and so we have a transparent record of every correction we make.

What Types of Errors We Correct

Calculation Errors (Bugs)

The formula produces an incorrect result given valid inputs. Example: the calculator shows $3.23 for a $75 international Stripe fee, but the correct answer is $3.60. This is a high-priority bug that we fix immediately upon confirmation.

Outdated Fee Rates

A platform has changed its rates and our calculator still uses the old values. We monitor rate changes monthly and aim to update within 48 hours of a confirmed change. See our Pricing Update Policy for full details on how we stay current.

Content Errors

Factual inaccuracies in page text, FAQs, or example calculations that contradict the correct formula or rate. Even a typo in a percentage figure can mislead users making real business decisions.

Note: Opinion-based content, benchmark estimates clearly labeled as "ranges," and third-party data clearly attributed to external sources are not subject to this corrections policy.

How to Report an Error

Follow these steps when reporting a calculation error or outdated rate:

1

Identify the specific page and problem

Note the calculator URL, the input values you used, the result you got, and what you expected. Screenshots are helpful for layout or display issues.

2

Find the correct rate or formula

Include a link to the official source (platform pricing page, official documentation, or government tax authority). We verify against official sources, not third-party aggregators.

3

Email us

Send your report to support@ecomcalctools.com with the subject line "Error Report: [Calculator Name]". Include your findings from steps 1 and 2.

How We Document and Publish Corrections

Verification

Every reported error is verified by our team against official documentation before we make a change. If the reported error is confirmed, we apply the fix. If the calculator is correct as-is, we explain why in our response.

Correction Log

All confirmed corrections are recorded in our Update Log with:

Page Updates

When a correction is published, we update the "Last Updated" date on the affected page. If the error was significant (affecting a large number of users or leading to meaningfully wrong financial decisions), we add a brief "Correction Note" at the top of the affected section.

Notification

If you reported the error, we email you when the fix is live. If the correction affects a large volume of past users (e.g., a fee rate that was wrong for months), we consider posting an update on our blog.
